ASHLEY L. REESE, B.S., Masters Level Clinician
“Mental health problems don’t define who you are. They are something you experience. You walk in the rain and you feel the rain, but you are not the rain.” – Matt Haig
When anxious thoughts run circles in your mind, it can often feel like you are becoming disconnected from the world around you and what you value most. I take a compassionate and collaborative approach to helping my clients get back in the driver’s seat of life and feel empowered to conquer daily stresses by re-engaging with what matters to them.
I use a blended form of traditional CBT, with some ERP and ACT, to help my clients navigate stressful experiences more fluidly. Each client’s treatment plan is personally-tailored to them and I seek client input on how they would like to shape their treatment with me. This integrated approach, which may include psychodynamic talk therapy, utilizes a combination of evidence-based interventions with insight-based strategies to create lasting, meaningful change.
I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, OCD, perfectionism, and addiction/self-medicating behaviors. With a background as a certified nurse’s assistant and over two years as an addictions counselor, my style is warm, empathic, and encouraging. I always strive for excellence in my studies, which have seen me on the Dean’s List and graduating Cum Laude during my undergraduate studies in psychology as well as being recently awarded a scholarship by the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) for training in the pediatric treatment of OCD. I look forward to working with you at Clearview!
Interests & Hobbies
First and foremost is my daughter. It’s a cliché, but she truly lights up my life. I have a strong core of friends and family and believe that social connection is critical to any kind of recovery. We all need and desire human connection. I have friends dating back to elementary school and am very close with my family so social connection is one of my primary values. In my self-care time, I’m a gym rat. I also love music, going for hikes, traveling, engaging in the spontaneous adventure (zip-lining, anyone?), and random acts of kindness. At the end of the day, I’m a person. And I want to get to know and honor the person that is you. What lights up your life? Let’s find it – together.
