Paige A. Beattie, B.S. — Clearview Volunteer
“Believe you can and you’re halfway there.” – Theodore Roosevelt
Although these are my first steps in the mental health field I have always had a knack for being able to understand others, it’s sort of my superpower. I have been a compassionate listener as far back as I can remember and have provided advice or just a shoulder to cry to those around me. I served on the student intervention team while in high school and at the Broward Humane Society where I helped find homes for homeless pets, (and ended up with a great dog in the process!). My professional path led me to finance, but working with numbers did not turn out to be as satisfying or fulfilling as seeing the results that came from helping others. I had a deep desire to achieve something more fulfilling.
After finding my own way to therapy following the death of my mother, I decided to pursue an education in psychology. To help prepare for my Master/ Doctoral programs, I applied for the volunteer position with the Clearview team and look forward to learning, experiencing, and helping those in need. Now, more than ever, I believe that mental health professionals will play a major role in helping society.
Interests and Hobbies
While not working, I enjoy being outside exploring the ocean. Scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding or just swimming — I competed in the swim around Key West a 12.5 mile swim, and finished 13th overall in just under 6 hours! Travel is also a big passion of mine and I love to experience the world. Europe, South America, Bahamas, and England are some favorites and I relish the new experiences while trying new foods and learning about different cultures.
