Renata L. Falcao, B.A., Master’s Level Clinical Intern
Navigating anxiety and OCD without support can feel incredibly isolating. Our thoughts can deceive us and lead us to imagine the worst-case scenarios; ones that often never come true. I have been in that place myself, and I know it is possible to move through it with the right support.
CBT explains that the way we think has a direct impact on how we behave and feel. Therefore, our thoughts have a strong impact on shaping our lives. When we learn to acknowledge them, align them with reality, and focus on our values and goals, we can begin to create meaningful change, one step at a time.
I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at William James College, and I am passionate about helping people take back the reins of their lives. I believe each person is unique and deserves to be supported in a way that takes into account their individual needs. OCD, anxiety, and depression do not have to define who you are.
I have a special interest in child mental health. I think this is a foundational stage where individuals begin to understand the world and how to relate to it. Earlier intervention for anxiety, OCD, and related disorders is something I am very passionate about. I also focus on women’s mental health, including interpersonal relationships, fertility challenges, pregnancy, and motherhood. As an immigrant from Brazil who moved to the U.S. a few years ago, I deeply understand the emotional and practical challenges that come with adapting to a new culture and environment.
In my clinical work, I use a combination of CBT, ACT, and ERP to support clients through life’s various transitions in a more grounded and compassionate way. I also integrate expressive arts and play therapy when appropriate. With a warm, empathetic approach and evidence-based techniques, my goal is to help you live a more peaceful and meaningful life.
I look forward to working with you at Clearview!
Interest & Hobbies
I love traveling and exploring new cultures, but I also cherish quiet time at home with my family. As someone who grew up in Brazil, my favorite place in the world is still sitting on a beach chair by the ocean, sipping coconut water. In my free time I enjoy cooking, spending time with my dog, coloring, and finding beautiful places in nature to unwind and recharge.
